Welcome to the Cromwell Chapter

We are so very sorry your beloved son or daughter has died…please accept our deepest sympathies and condolences. We truly understand how having a child die can change your life, we also have had a child die, we are bereaved parents.

It is hard to find words or actions that can help ease your overwhelming pain related to this tragic event in your life, just know that we care and understand. We pray that you find some peace and comfort in the happy memories of your beloved child.
For us to tell you that you will feel like you did before the death of your child would be a disservice. Each of us handles our grief differently. The tragic death of your child will forever change your life.

Why we are here…in the early days, weeks, and even months after a child dies, family members, neighbors, friends, and work colleagues are very supportive and understanding. They allow us to share our grief, tears, and stories about our child who died. They even try to understand how we continue to be deeply sad, depressed, have no energy to function and may be physically ill.

We treasure these kind people, but as human nature would have it, even though our world as we once knew it has been tossed into never-ending chaos, many of these same family members, neighbors, friends, and work colleagues begin to distance themselves from us and our grief. Many even will get frustrated or even angry with us as they expect us to “move on” or “be normal again” Through no fault of their own, they simply don’t understand that after the death of our child…this is our “NEW NORMAL”.
That being said, many of us seek out a place where we will “fit in”, where we can share those tears, stories and lives of our beloved children with someone who will understand and will provide continuous comfort and support.

The Bereaved Parents of the USA, Cromwell, CT Chapter is that place where you will be welcomed with open arms, a warm smile and someone to just be there for you.

Love Gifts in Memory:
A Love Gift is a donation to the chapter in memory of a child, grandchild or sibling, or in honor of someone still living. All Love Gifts are gratefully acknowledged in the newsletter accompanied by wording exactly as the donor submits. The Bereaved Parents-Cromwell, Connecticut Chapter or Bereaved Parents of the USA (BP/USA) do not charge fees or dues. Our funding comes from Love Gifts to the chapter from loving bereaved families, individuals or organizations who provide comfort, guidance and support to bereaved parents.
